1. Raw grade (crude processed ginsenosides):
Raw grade products refer to raw materials, such as Panax ginseng and American ginseng, directly ground into powder, added excipients, pressed into pieces, or made into other preparations, etc., without the fine purification, only simple physical processing. Usually, the ginsenoside product names in the category carry the words "ginsenoside tableting candy ", " ginsenoside powder ", " ginsenoside tablet ", or labels containing more than one ginsenoside. The class of ginsenoside products, which are extracted because there is no related specialized technique, have relatively low levels of total ginsenosides, both in concentration and activity.
2. Single or multiple ginsenoside monomers:
Some commercially available products promote the inclusion of rare ginsenosides Rh2, appd, RK2, rh3, appt, RK1, Rg5, Rh1, rh3, and so on, whether the individual contents or multiple mixed contents are better than the above-mentioned raw grade (crude processed total ginsenosides) , which have no proven reliability.
Although ginsenoside monomers are beneficial to humans, at present, none of the roles of these monomeric components, supported by clinical data, can be used at best as routine health care.
Medical grade products have only one - Ginsenoside Rg3, which is currently the only component that has been shown to have antitumor effects through phase IV clinical trials with human application data.
The Ginsenoside Rg3 crude drug was granted a new drug certificate and production critical in 2000, and two pharmaceutical doctors, Fu Li and Lu Qi, whose inventors developed new extraction techniques, opened the industrial production of Rg3.
Ginsenoside Rg3 at the time of entering the clinical application, high-purity medical-grade Rg3 must be used, the purity of which must not be less than 95%, if the purity is lower than the value, the more impurity components are contained, thus affecting the stability of the Rg3 antitumor effect.
Non-medical grade products have neither passed human clinical trials nor achieved specified standards in purity, At best, it can only play the role of health care regimen and cannot enter into tumor-related clinical applications
