Pro-Xylane, INCI name Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol, is a C-glycoside in terms of chemical structure. Proxylane is an anti-aging active substance, a β-xylose derivative, with a small molecular weight and is easily absorbed by the skin. Currently, Proxylane is mainly synthesized by biosynthesis and chemical synthesis.

Biosynthesis:
Using xylose and isopropanol as substrates, bosone is produced under the catalysis of isopropanol dehydrogenase, bosone synthase, carbonyl reductase and coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide.

Chemical synthesis:
Using xylose as raw material, it reacts with acetylacetone in an alkaline aqueous solution, and then reduces the keto carbonyl with sodium borohydride to obtain bosone.

What are the benefits of hydroxypropyl tetrahydropyrantriol?

ProXylan has excellent anti-wrinkle and skin tightening properties.
1. Promote GAG synthesis
Pro-Xylan can regulate the secretion and synthesis of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). As an important component of the extracellular matrix, these macromolecular polysaccharides help maintain water balance and form a strong moisturizing barrier, thereby reducing water loss and making the skin Hydrating and plump.
2. Stimulate collagen regeneration
Pro-Xylan can effectively stimulate the production of collagen in the dermal layer of the skin by activating specific signaling pathways.
Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol can promote the production of type IV and type VII collagen by dermal cells.
Collagen is a key protein that maintains skin elasticity and firmness. When its content is increased, it can significantly improve skin sagging, wrinkles and other conditions, and achieve skin rejuvenation.
3. Anti-UVB photoaging
Pro-Xylan Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol also shows the ability to resist skin damage caused by ultraviolet rays (UVB), helping to protect the skin from the effects of solar aging by enhancing the skin's self-repair mechanism.
