What is gamma aminobutyric acid?
GABA Gamma Aminobutyric Acid is a non-protein amino acid widely distributed in nature and exists in animals, plants, and microorganisms. For humans, the content of GABA will decrease with age.
The GABA production process mainly includes chemical synthesis, plant enrichment and microbial fermentation. Among these methods, microbial fermentation is currently the main way to produce GABA raw materials.
Studies have shown that GABA has functions such as improving sleep, calming and anti-anxiety, and regulating blood pressure and blood sugar.

Gamma aminobutyric acid function
1. As a neurotrophic factor, GABA can inhibit the contraction of innervated muscle cells.
GABA is a major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. It plays key regulatory functions in the human cerebral cortex, hippocampus, thalamus, basal ganglia and cerebellum. Helps improve sleep problems and relieve anxiety by regulating neurotransmitter levels in the brain.
2. GABA Gamma Aminobutyric Acid also has the ability to inhibit glucagon release, which has great potential for preventing diabetes.
3. Data show that the GABA content in the brains of Alzheimer's patients is much lower than that of normal people, and there is a certain improvement after ingesting GABA.
4. GABA plays an important role in the respiratory system and has a good antitussive effect. It is involved in regulating allergic reactions in the airways and can inhibit microvascular leakage problems.

GABA has good water solubility and thermal stability, and is widely used in food, medicine, medical beauty, feed, agriculture and other fields.
GABA is safe to eat, and the European Food Safety Authority stipulates that its dietary intake limit is 550 mg.
GABA is a natural active ingredient that can help consumers relieve mental stress and improve sleep. It is more suitable for consumption during work breaks during the day and before falling asleep at night.
As a new food raw material, GABA can be used in beverages, chocolate products, candies, baked goods, and puffed foods.
In addition, many companies have developed gummies containing GABA.
