Why is copper peptide blue?

Copper peptide, also known as COPPER TRIPEPTIDE-1, is a compound composed of copper ions and tripeptide-1. Due to the presence of copper ions in the structure, it appears blue when combined with aqueous solution. In other words, a complex is formed between the copper ions and the peptide, which absorbs light in the red part of the spectrum, making it appear blue.
In 1988, people discovered copper peptide. Subsequent studies have shown that the ability of copper peptide to stimulate collagen synthesis is even better than classic anti-aging ingredients such as retinoic acid or vitamin C. In recent years, copper peptide masks and copper peptide repair freeze-dried powder have become increasingly popular in the market.
Joshua Zeichner, an expert at Mount Sinai Dermatology Center in New York, said, "Copper plays an important role in maintaining skin health. It can help build collagen and elastin and stimulate the skin to produce hyaluronic acid.

Copper peptide for hair growth

Copper peptides GHK-Cu can stimulate collagen production, which is important for maintaining healthy hair follicles, improving hair health and promoting hair growth.

Copper peptides can help stimulate hair follicles and promote hair growth. The anti-inflammatory properties of copper peptides can help reduce scalp inflammation that causes hair loss.

The antioxidant effects of copper peptides can reduce free radical damage to hair follicles.

How does copper peptide work?

Copper peptides are involved in the synthesis of enzymes that maintain skin health, such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), elastin, and lysyl oxidase. Dr. Peart has conducted many genetic and cellular studies on GHK-Cu. An article in 2012 briefly describes the main mechanism of copper peptides' antioxidant effect, which is the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity stimulated by copper.

It can restore the skin's repair ability, reduce the degree of skin damage, and stimulate the formation of glucosamine. Copper peptides stimulate the formation of collagen and reduce the formation of fine lines, assist the antioxidant SOD, have a strong anti-free radical function, and delay aging.

Multiple women with mild to severe signs of photoaging experienced a reduction in visible signs of aging after using a cream containing GHK-Cu for 12 weeks. Skin laxity and appearance were visibly improved, fine lines and wrinkles were reduced, and skin density and thickness were increased.

1. Copper peptide is at the top of the ingredient list, which means that the ingredient accounts for a higher proportion in the product. 2. Since copper peptide has a certain viscosity, products containing copper peptide are usually more viscous.

3. GHK-Cu is light-sensitive, so it is best to store the product in a cool place.
