The active ingredient of lotus leaves

The main bioactive components of lotus leaves are alkaloids and flavonoids, Nuciferine is a morphine-type alkaloid, pharmacological studies show that it is the main fat-lowering active ingredient in the lotus leaf.

Experiments show that flavonoids have some inhibitory effects on E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus aureus.

The active ingredient of lotus extract (Hyperoside) has been shown by the pharmacological screening experiment of oral pathogenic bacteria, which can inhibit the pathogenic bacteria causing gingivitis, the lotus leaf extract has been applied to toothpaste products, and established its active ingredient (flavonoids) qualitative and quantitative detection in toothpaste".

In addition, lotus leaves also contain essential oils, tantalum, vitamin C, tartaric acid, oxalic acid, malic acid, oxalic acid, and so on, and a variety of essential trace elements such as iron, zinc, copper, manganese, and so on.

Lotus leaf has a better antioxidant effect, some studies show that: the methanol extract of lotus leaf has a strong antioxidant activity, its antioxidant properties, and BHA equivalent, slightly higher than a-tocopherol.

The antioxidant effect of lotus extract can replace tocopherols and BHA added to cosmetics, which play an antioxidant role in lecithin, acids, hydroquinone, and other nutrients to improve the effectiveness of cosmetics. it can anti-aging by removing the free radicals.
