Bakuchiol Oil

Psoralea corylifolia is a traditional Chinese medicine included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
In 1966, India used n-hexane to extract fresh mature seeds of Psoralea corylifolia and found that the main component was a monoterpene compound containing phenolic hydroxyl groups, named bakuchiol. Today, bakuchiol oil is mainly extracted and separated from other leguminous plants or Fabaceae plants such as Psoralea corylifolia seeds. In 2007, bakuchiol was commercialized as an external medicine.

1. Studies have shown that the anti-aging mechanism of bakuchiol is similar to that of retinol. It acts on dermal cells, stimulates the activity of fibroblasts to produce more collagen, and achieves skin firming, wound repair and other effects.
2. Bakuchiol can inhibit skin aging caused by inflammation and reactive oxygen species, and slow down the degradation of collagen to achieve anti-aging effects. Bakuchiol is milder and stable to light. It can be used during the day and is not affected by ultraviolet rays.

3. A 2019 study published in the British Journal of Dermatology found that bakuchiol was just as effective as retinol in reducing fine lines and improving skin tone.
