Amino acids are the basic structural units of life and play an important role in the development and growth of plants and animals. Scientists have discovered that amino acid molecules are structurally divided into L-amino acids and R-amino acids. Currently, more than 20 types of amino acids have been discovered, and almost all of the amino acids that make up living organisms are L-amino acids.
Currently, the types that have been applied on a large scale include lysine, threonine, methionine and valine. Their direct downstream is mainly used in the field of breeding, and a small part is used in the fields of medicine and food additives. Amino acids are mainly used in breeding, medicine and food additives, and the final orientation is mainly absorbed by the human body.

At present, in China, the amino acid industry has formed a relatively complete industrial chain, including raw material supply, production and processing, downstream industries, etc. The downstream of amino acid products is mainly used in feed additives, food additives, medicine and chemical industries.
Lysine, threonine and methionine are the three main amino acids currently used on a large scale in the breeding field. The production processes of lysine and threonine are mainly fermentation technology, and methionine is still mainly chemical synthesis.
In 2023, the global production of lysine and threonine will be about 3.46 million tons and 950,000 tons respectively. Due to the growth in demand in the feed field, the compound growth rate of production from 2011 to 20223 will reach 7% and 12% respectively.
