What is dhea?

In 1956, G Rosenkranz et al. synthesized DHEA from diosgenin for the first time. At present, most of the industrial methods for producing DHEA are optimized based on the synthesis of DHEA from diosgenin.

DHEA plays a role in more than 150 different metabolisms.
While calorie intake and energy expenditure are important factors in weight control, hormones also play a crucial role. DHEA helps increase energy expenditure and the ability to burn fat, two metabolic processes that typically decline with age.

What are the functions of dehydroepiandrosterone?

When people think of DHEA supplements, athletes may be what comes to mind. This is because DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is considered a "stimulating hormone" and has been linked to a longer, stronger body.
DHEA works like a natural anabolic steroid in that it promotes the production of natural growth hormone, helping to fight fat accumulation and build high muscle mass.

DHEA supplements are often used to help promote weight loss and support exercise training, improving pain and fatigue. Especially building lean muscle mass.
7-Keto is a DHEA supplement that helps adults maintain strong metabolism levels while helping to prevent age-related fat gain and muscle loss.

DHEA helps transport glucose into cells for energy, lowers insulin levels and stimulates fat burning. This shows that DHEA can improve lean muscle mass and help burn calories more efficiently.

According to some studies, high levels of DHEA may reduce the incidence of major depression and improve overall mood. Research shows that supplementing with 25 to 200 mg of DHEA can help reduce depression and mood-related symptoms.

Dose of DHEA supplement

DHEA provides many benefits. It's best to start with a low-dose DHEA supplement to allow your body to adjust, and then gradually increase the dose.
When purchasing products, first determine the purity or safety of the DHEA product. So it's important to read labels, do your research when buying supplements, and follow directions.
DHEA is a weak androgen and is suitable for daily use by patients with definite premature ovarian failure. Patients with high levels of androgens should use it with caution. However, because it is an androgen, it can cause side effects such as acne and hair loss.

The University of Maryland Medical Center recommends purchasing DHEA directly from your doctor to ensure it is genuine. DHEA is available in capsules, tablets, gum, sublingual (under the tongue) drops, and topical (on the skin) creams.

According to the National Institutes of Health, most adults over the age of 30 take 20 to 50 mg of DHEA supplements daily.

For the treatment of cognitive decline, 25 mg twice daily for six weeks is recommended.
To improve bone healing and bone mineral density, 50 to 100 mg daily is recommended.
