Rhodiola root(also known as Arctic root, golden root) genus crassulaceae plants, which are native to the Arctic Circle of eastern Siberia. Rhodiola is widely distributed throughout the polar circles and the multi-mountain regions of Europe and Asia. It mostly grows from 11000 to 18000 feet above sea level. Rhodiola sachalinensis was classified as an adaptive agent by Soviet scientists because of its efficacy in increasing the ability of various chemical, biological and physical stresses. The term "adaption" originated in 1947 and was put forward by Lazarev, a Soviet scientist.
