Three main types of Boswellic Acid

Boswellic Acid is an extract from Boswellia gum resin, native to tropical regions of Africa and Asia. The name comes from the Old French "fran nncens", which means pure incense. There are three main types of Boswellia extract, most commonly used as a supplement or essential oil.

Boswellia serrata: A main herb of Ayurveda, also known as Indian Boswellic. It usually comes in capsule form , which is the most common nutritional supplement.

• Boswellia carteri: the species originated in East Africa and China. Its resin is usually used to make oil, which is a popular essential oil.

• Boswellia sacra: Native to the Arabian Peninsula and northeastern Africa, this type is also used in frankincense oil.

What is Boswellia Complex?

Boswellia is sometimes combined with other herbs for additional benefits. Boswellia complex is an extract containing Boswellic Acid, celery seed, ginger and turmeric.
