Lutein

Of the 17 effective studies, 11 reported a positive association between lutein and physical activity, three reported mixed results, and the remaining three reported no association. In general, the negative correlation between them has not been reported.

The researchers systematically reviewed the relationship between lutein status (dietary intake or blood lutein concentration) and physical activity, and found a positive association between the two, leading to the conclusion that increased lutein, or other carotenoids, can increase physical activity and thereby reduce the risk of chronic disease.
